Why does a fabric company need AI
It doesn't.

But since we're on the topic
At Apollodyne we recognize that AI is a term that gets thrown around too loosely in an attempt to garner attention and investment.
But Apollodyne does use AI to some extent. We are not developing new AI algorithms but are constantly becoming aware of the latest developments in the field and assessing if those tools can be applied for the emergence of new textile materials and blends for omniphobic applications, filtration, gas separations and passively cooling fabrics.

In order to use these tools, Apollodyne relies on curated databases of polymer structure and properties that it has collected and organized over the years. AI has been useful in adding to these databases and machine learning techniques have been applied to find useful relationships among the data. Sometimes we even go old school and use quantum chemical calculations in order to provide a fundamental understanding.
So, with a disregard for conventional thinking, Apollodyne doesn't use AI and at the same time uses AI.
